PROGRAM ASSISTANT, WORKFORCE & EMPLOYER SERVICES
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Foundation is seeking an organized, motivated, and personable individual to serve as a Program Assistant, Workforce & Employer Services.
The Program Assistant will work directly under the Program Manager, Workforce & Employer Services to provide administrative and program support across the Foundation's workforce, education, and employer services initiatives. This is a hands-on, full-time support role focused on assisting with the day-to-day work of the department and carrying out assigned tasks across programs and initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative and program support to the Program Manager across workforce, education, and employer services initiatives.
- Assist with the Foundation's Human Resource (HR) Services for Small Businesses initiative.
- Assist with maintaining and promoting the Chamber's online Job Board, including posting and updating opportunities and helping businesses with job postings and job descriptions.
- Assist with the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), National Civics Bee, Leading Ladies Collective, job and career fairs, and other workforce and education programs as assigned.
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of all workforce programming, including participant registration, scheduling, communications, data entry, presentation preparation, workshops, and follow-up.
- Assist with outreach to businesses, schools, students, educational institutions, training providers, and community partners through phone calls, emails, and other communications.
- Assist with the coordination of interns, including preparing onboarding materials, maintaining schedules and records, and supporting assigned intern projects.
- Provide logistical support for programs, workshops, meetings, and events, including preparation, registration, materials, setup, and follow-up.
- Conduct research and assist with special projects as assigned by the Program Manager.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities as appropriate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Education, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong organizational, administrative, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments, follow instructions, and complete tasks accurately and on time.
- Comfortable communicating with business owners, employers, students, educators, and community partners.
- Interest in workforce development, education, career development, and working with students and young adults.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with the ability to learn online program and database systems.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively as part of a team.

JOB DETAILS
Full-time position. In-person Monday through Friday at the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce (2555 Richmond Avenue, Suite 240, Staten Island, NY, 10314). Some weekend and evening events required. Remote work not available for this position.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Compensation: $50,000 per year.
