<Responsibilities>

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing outstanding front desk customer service.
  • Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring all documentation aligns with payer requirements.
  • Collect and process payments, perform medical collections, and handle billing procedures with precision.
  • Manage incoming calls using multi-line phone systems, directing inquiries appropriately while maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
  • Review and update patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of health information.
  • Assist with medical documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and ensure accurate entry into EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix.
  • Support clinic operations by managing filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records and office supplies.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling for multiple providers while managing cancellations or rescheduling efficiently.
  • Perform insurance verification and pre-authorizations to facilitate smooth patient care processes.

<Qualifications>

  • Proven experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting, including clinic or dental office experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10-key typing).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards with discretion and professionalism.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks.
  • Strong communication skills coupled with friendly phone etiquette to provide outstanding patient service.
