Instructor - CRED Progam

Schedule and Pay Rate:

  • Full-Time: $58,500 annually / 40 hours per week / Includes benefits, 403b, paid holidays, and paid time off
  • Part-Time: $20 to $22 per hour / Approximately 20 to 25 hours per week

In-Person/ STATEN ISLAND, NY

Weekly Hours: Monday – Friday 12PM – 8PM or 1PM - 9PM

JOB DESCRIPTION:

United Activities Unlimited, Inc. (UAU) is a Staten Island-based community organization providing youth development, workforce, and community support services. The Instructor supports the CRED program, a cohort-based vocational training program serving individuals ages 18 to 40. This role is responsible for developing and delivering a curriculum focused on work readiness, financial literacy, leadership, and vocational skills, while supporting participants in achieving employment outcomes in the transportation industry. The Instructor works closely with program staff to support participant progress, engagement, and successful program completion.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field required
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in education, workforce development, or the commercial driving industry
  • Experience working with youth or vulnerable populations in occupational or life skills training
  • Experience developing and delivering curriculum in areas such as literacy, mathematics, professionalism, or financial literacy
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and guide participants toward achieving personal and professional goals
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual learning platforms, including Zoom and Google Classroom
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to take initiative and demonstrate flexibility
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and respect for diverse backgrounds and identities
  • Bilingual skills preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a standard classroom or office environment using typical equipment
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for portions of the day
  • Ability to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to observe details at close range
  • Ability to lift up to 30 to 50 pounds as needed
  • May require occasional local travel reimbursed in accordance with UAU policies.
