POSITION SUMMARY: CRED is a cohort-based vocational training program for at-risk individuals between the ages of 18-40 years old. The program provides classroom instruction, case management services, internship opportunities, and job placement services designed to help clients earn a Commercial Driver’s License and obtain employment in the transportation industry. The Program Director is responsible for managing all aspects of programming, including planning, organizing, and delivering services. The CRED Program Director is responsible for supervising and supporting staff to achieve organizational goals and NYC Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) deliverables. The CRED Program Director will be responsible for providing a safe, caring, and enriching environment for all clients enrolled in the CRED Program. The individual selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Workforce Development and Director of Workforce Development, will conduct themselves in a professional manner, and will comply with all standards set forth by United Activities Unlimited and the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
- Manage all aspects of program operations for UAU’s CRED Program.
- Support and manage a team of 8 part-and-full-time employees
- Act as the primary liaison between UAU, external partners, and the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development
- Support the Assistant Director of Workforce Development with financial and human resource related matters, as needed.
- Assist Case Managers in performing client assessments, client enrollment sessions, and client attainment validation.
- Assist the Job Developer with developing internship and job placement opportunities.
- Assist the Education Specialist in creating programmatic content, curriculum, and training material.
- Oversee the development and implementation of academic, employment, and life skills workshops.
- Oversee client attendance and payroll submission, including hours entry, approval, and committal.
- Provide in-person case management to CRED clients on an as needed basis, including case notes, milestones, and other DYCD requirements.
- Work with CRED staff to recruit at least 60 program clients per year.
- Create recruitment and marketing materials that adhere to DYCD and UAU branding guidelines.
- Ensure the timely submission of required all required program documentation, including but not limited to, reports, case notes, staff performance reviews, and participant attainments
- Ensure the program meets all UAU and DYCD issued deadlines, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Coordinate and lead team meetings, professional development trainings, and other program events and activities.
- Work with community-based partners to provide participants with resources, referrals, and partnerships.
- Assist with any other departmental duties and projects as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required, or higher preferred
- 3+ years of experience working in social services and/or workforce development
- 2+ years of supervisory experience, required
- Strong project management experience, with ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deliverables and deadlines
- Strong management, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational partnership, and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint and G-Suite products (Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Classroom, etc.)
- Exceptional and effective organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
- Ability to stay organized while managing multiple tasks
- Ability to conduct and complete work independently, while contributing to a collaborative team effort to achieve target objects and outcomes
- Leads and facilitates with high, positive energy and keen focus on target objectives and outcomes
- Displays a superior level of professionalism, including attire, appearance, and demeanor
- Able to effectively deliver instruction to elevate individuals’ transferable skills, academic proficiency, and social-emotional capacity
