Title: Wellness Program Coordinator
Immediate Supervisor: Older Adult Center Directors
Program: Cassidy Coles and New Lane Older Adult Centers
JOB PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
The Wellness Coordinator will develop, implement, and oversee health and wellness programs designed to enhance the well-being of older adult members. The role involves planning, leading and supervising activities that promote healthy aging, including fitness and educational activities. The Wellness coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage the older adult community and build relationships with community partners and volunteers to support healthy aging for the members. Adherence to standards and procedures as set forth by funding sources as well as CASC is vital.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and administer the overall operation of Health and Wellness Programming at 2 Older Adult Centers, Cassidy Coles and New
- Work with Center Directors to create an ongoing plan of outreach to increase participation in wellness groups and overall senior membership.
- Develop and lead a variety of fitness programs tailored to the needs and abilities of the members such as Zumba, yoga, stretching, and strength training.
- Supervise health/wellness group activities facilitators/leaders ensuring the safety and well-being of the
- Work with Director to recruit and supervise volunteers to facilitate wellness groups.
- Review and evaluate delivery of Wellness Program including levels of service goals and membership needs and satisfaction of
- Ensure that all staff are familiar with NYC Aging
- Adhere to agency protocols and procedures, and funding sources standards of operation.
- Guide members on proper usage of gym
- Organize and present educational workshops on topics such as nutrition and healthy aging.
- Create and update calendar of events for fitness activities and educational presentations on wellness.
- Maintain records as required by NYC Aging and CASC, including keeping record of attendance and any relevant member data
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Wellness Program Group Activity Facilitators & Volunteers
Education, Certification and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or 2 years' experience health, wellness programming.
Supervisory or administrative experience providing group wellness activities in health/wellness, education, recreation or related fields, preferably with the aged in a community setting.
Certification, Registration, or License in Health, Wellness or Healing Arts or specific Evidenced Based Health programs
CPR/AED Certified
Requisite Skills and Capabilities:
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Power Point required and experience with databases, including NYC Aging STARS a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Staten Island community

Salary and Benefits:
$43,848.00-$48415.00 annually
