Pay Rate/Benefits: The pay range for this role is generally $46,300 - $50,000 annually commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) drives dramatic improvements in the health of New Yorkers by feeding people who are hungry, healing families broken apart by violence, and bridging the gaps between people and the compassionate health care they deserve. CHASI provides outreach, education, prevention, and direct support services for populations most affected by health disparities – people with low or no income, low-income people with chronic illnesses, people with criminal justice involvement, people who use drugs, domestic violence survivors, people of color, and the LGBTQ community.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Domestic Violence Specialist is part of a Domestic Violence (DV) services team providing community education and training, engagement, crisis intervention, case management, and trauma recovery support. The DV Specialist will assist the Domestic Violence Coordinator in planning, organizing, and leading structured client and healthcare provider DV workshops and trainings as well as establishing DV community partnerships and trainings for community based organizations and medical providers.
The Domestic Violence Specialist is responsible for providing case management, patient navigation, and referral services for DV survivors. This includes intake/screening, safety planning, sexual and reproductive health education, and linkage and navigation services for all program participants. CHASI's Domestic Violence and Trauma services are co-located at 26 Bay Street and the Staten Island Family Justice Center (126 Stuyvesant Place). This role primarily works out of 26 Bay St and works a Monday-Friday, 9a-5p schedule with flexibility required for some evening and weekend events, with advanced notice.
