Assist entrepreneurs and existing small businesses on Staten Island to start, operate and expand through the successful delivery of NYC Business Solutions services
Foster relationships with contacts at banks, alternative lenders and credit unions
Conduct small business outreach and site visits to clients and potential clients up to 30% of the time including contacting 311, NYCHA, and Chamber of Commerce referral leads by phone to schedule face-to-face meetings
Assist clients in connecting with lenders and applying for financial programs including traditional bank loans, peer-to-peer lending, crowd funding, lines of credit and start up support
Assist clients in applying for government incentives and programs including training funds, Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) certification, educational resources, legal assistance, start up support, etc.
Represent EDSI/NYC Business Solutions at conferences, Chamber of Commerce events, job fairs, meetings, networking events and select social functions as required to generate client leads and promote Center services
Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations to connect clients to services including training and recruitment services
Plan, create and facilitate onsite, offsite, and virtual business education workshops
Create and manage schedules for business education courses and instructors
Meet performance criteria on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
Qualifications
Required Experience:
Three years of experience in sales, financial services or community centered activities in an area related to the successful elements described above
Experience in small business financing, loans, crowd funding and lines of credit
Knowledge of small business landscape, either as previous business owner and/or advisor
Knowledge of financial products, loan policies, procedures and standards
Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills to provide customer service
Sales Skills - Understands the marketplace. Works to meet prospect/customer needs. Utilizes effective closing techniques. Understands and strives to achieve sales plan goals. Utilizes current and new methods and strategies to maintain quota.
Highly detail-oriented and capable of juggling multiple clients
Existing connections and experience working with businesses on Staten Island
Working knowledge of event and client management systems including Eventbrite, Constant Contact, Zoom, Dynamics, etc.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Experience presenting to large groups and facilitating curriculum
Ability to attend 2-3 monthly evening/weekend community events
